Shakespeare 100

Shakespeare 100

The Course

The route details will be available about ten days before the events - we have to leave it as late as possible for the risk assessment and to check for any road works or closures that will affect the ride.

There will be a broadcast message to all entrants to advise that the route is available and with some on-the-day instructions.

The September routes follow a loop around Stratford-upon-Avon - there is a core 100 mile route with an "inner loop" for the shorter distance option.  For the April event we will be using the "southern loops" of the 100 mile route to create a new 100km course.

We've planned something for all riders - challenging climbs for the grimpeurs, beautiful countryside and super feed stations for everyone!

For 2012 there are few changes :

The 100km and 100 mile Shakespeare 100 routes for September have been adjusted to get close as we can to the precise distance (always an issue with different measuring devices) - the 100km route shares part of the 100 mile route.

As always, the rider numbers are colour coded (Yellow for 100 miles, Blue for 100km) and signage at route splits (bigger boards this year) will be obvious, and colour coded.

If you have ridden the Shakespeare 100 in 2009, 10 or 11 - the routes will be broadly the same with the great feed stations - all on-road and with clear signage.

The MacRide events which run on the same day in September have been changed significantly for 2012 with much less sharing ot the Shakespeare 100 event course
