ENTRIES FOR THE 2012 EVENTS ARE NOW OPEN!

Getting ready for the following year’s events (2012 will be the fourth Shakespeare 100) seems to start earlier and earlier . . . in October we had about 20 “when can I enter” messages from past riders!

2011 again saw us with record numbers and having to close entries for the 100 mile ride well before the day.

For 2012 we have the new Shakespeare SPRING 100 on 1 April (100km only) as well as the 100 mile and 100km Shakespeare 100 events in September. 

We've also revised the routes with tweaks to get them as close to the published distances as we can (never a precise solution given the plethora of measurement tools!) - we've also changed the sister MacRide events in September so that they only share a small part of the Shakespeare route - it means more signage but we can handle that!

I need to tell you about a few changes .... the team that organises the series of events to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support is now a formal “Macmillan Volunteer group”   To the event entrants there’ll be little difference but the administration will be simpler - which should enable us to contain costs.

Each event will still have its own website for the details etc. but a new MacRide Events website will process all entries etc in a single “shop”

So, 2012 is approaching with a great range of cycling events .... if you have ridden with us before, or are planning to do so : THANK YOU!
